The Lightning middle school boys cross country team dropped their first meet of the season to Goodrich, 43-20. Lapeer’s Gabe Trevorrow won the two-mile race, pulling ahead of a Goodrich runner at the finish to earn first place with a time of 12:10. Other top finishers for the Lightning included Connor Mead and Ever Miller, who finished together with times of 16:44 and 16:45, respectively. Caleb Moses (17:47) was the fourth Lapeer runner to cross the finish line, and Christopher Herr (19:10) rounded out the Lightning top five.
Lapeer’s next meet is Monday (Sept. 14) at home vs. Holly.
