Lapeer Lightning/bolts Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-4 loss to Clarkston on Thursday. Clarkston scored on a fielder’s choice by A Barta in the first inning, a single by N Ansel in the first inning, a single by A Tolmie in the second inning, a triple by Ansel in the second inning, and a double by O Warrington in the second inning.

The Lapeer Lightning/bolts Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Clarkston, giving up 13 runs.

Clarkston opened up scoring in the first inning. Barta hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Clarkston scored five runs in the second inning. Tolmie, Ansel, and Warrington all drove in runs in the frame.

Warrington led things off on the rubber for Clarkston. She lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Ellie Green started the game for Lapeer Lightning/bolts Varsity. She lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and ten runs while striking out two. Maggie Wilkinson threw four and a third innings out of the bullpen.
