The Lapeer girls finished off the SVL season in style Tuesday at Monitor Lanes with a convincing win over a good Bay City John Glenn team, 26-4. The win leaves the girls alone at the top of the league with a 12 – 1 league record for the season. The match was never really in doubt as the girls struck fast and often winning both Baker Games and jumping out to a 10-0 lead. John Glenn bowled well and they were hard to pull away from, but 4 strikes in the 6th frame, and four more in the 7th separated the two teams. By the end of the first head to head game, the girls had enough points to win the match and the league championship! The entire team bowled well, but was led by Stephanie Slater; 244 and 190, and Jillian Roush; 201 and 190. Bailey Orsette added in a 176 and Sarah Lyerla a 169. Next for the girls is state regional competition at Richfield Bowl on Friday and Saturday.
