Tuesday night the Lapeer Lightning JV boys hit the road to face a 7-1 Flushing squad. Removing rust requires effort and after going 3 weeks without playing a game the Lightning boys were committed to the task. With a smothering defense the Lapeer team frustrated the much larger Flushing team holding them to only 6 points in the first quarter. The defensive pressure continued and the rust turned into polish as the offense began to shine. Scoring 17 points while only giving up a single bucket the Lightning headed to the locker room leading 24-8. The 3rd quarter was another strong showing for the team from Lapeer as they increased their lead to 18 pts. Heading into the final quarter the Flushing boys reminded the Lightning there was still 8 minutes of basketball to be played. Battling to the final buzzer the Raiders were able to trim the lighting margin of victory to just 10 pts. Overall a very good performance to start the 2nd half of the season for the Lapeer Lightning!
