The Lapeer Lightning JV boys basketball team hit the road Friday to tip off against the 5-3 Flint Jaguars. The Jaguar gym (Formerly Flint South Western) has often been a place where Lapeer basketball has struggled. History seemed to be repeating itself once again as Lapeer struggled with the Jaguars awkward style of play, ending the half trailing 28-21. Stepping onto the floor to start the 2nd half was a different Lightning team. It looked as though the boys realized they were the better team and were determined to prove as much. Lapeer scoring 23 pts. in the 3rd, took a 6 pt. lead heading to the final quarter. Playing with a very short bench, Flint just couldn’t keep up with the Lightning 2nd half offensive explosion. Lapeer scoring a season high 61 points picked up their 7th win in 8 tries beating Flint 61-41.
Scoring for Lapeer:
Ryan Rubick – 2pts. Keegan Sumner – 2pts. Kyle Freeland – 4 pts. Sean Nolan – 5 pts. Easton Callans – 5pts. Isaiah Lee 7 pts. Logan Dunbar – 12 pts. Gavin Carr – 24 pts.
