The Lapeer Lightning hosted the Saginaw Trojans on Monday afternoon. The 1st quarter consisted of both teams trading buckets, especially from behind the arc resulting in a 16 – 14 Trojan lead. The 2nd quarter once again saw the Lightning seize control of the game with an offensive explosion of 24 pts. Even more impressive was the defense, allowing just 3 pts. to a typically high scoring Trojan squad. The result was a somewhat surprising 19 pt. lead heading to the break. Lapeer came out of the half determined to not let a dangerous Saginaw team entertain any thought of a comeback. Pouring in 19 more points while holding the Trojans to only 8, the 3rd quarter ended with a Lightning 30 pt. lead. Once again the bench playing significant minutes was able to gain valuable experience and provided a solid contribution to an impressive Lightning victory.
